About Gerald M. Homminga

I have painted, with acrylics and watercolor, for the last thirty years.  During 2016, watercolors have become my primary medium and I have been more focused on improving my skill set under the guidance of other artists.  I am more self-taught than anything else, but my work has improved by the hours I spend in my studio and the time spent in watercolor workshops and retreats.

It was in April 2016 when this website began and my work has progressed far beyond my initial expectations.  I thank you for embracing my art and providing encouragement along the way.  As we continue in 2019 I hope you will visit this site often. It is my storefront and things always change. Thanks for stopping by.

Grand Rapids, Michigan area is where I was born and raised. Michigan has been my home for most of my life. For the last 18 years, my residence was in Rockford, Michigan. A wonderful community with a trout stream, vibrant downtown, and the linear state park - the White Pine Trail linking improved paths throughout Michigan.  My former residence was in Whitehall, Michigan, (located on Lake Michigan) where my painting efforts first began. It, also, is a vibrant community.  Now as we begin 2019, I have made a major move geographically, and find my residence in Peachtree City, Georgia, about 30 miles south of Atlanta.  I'm enjoying my new friendships and I have begun to get acquainted with the art community in this vibrant state.

In 2019 my work has been shown the Newnan-Coweta Art Association, Inc. Annual Juried Art Exhibit and as a featured artist at the Curious Pig Resturant and Gastropub in Peachtree City, GA.  I am currently a member of the Georgia Watercolor Society, Newnan-Coweta Art Association, national Trout Unlimited, and the national Ruffed Grouse Society.  I am a fly fisherman, and support the small game hunting community's effort in habitat restoration (remembering my youth when I hunted small game on my grandparent's farm and in appreciation of my many clients who have commissioned paintings of their beautiful canines.)

I do commission work if desired.  Contact me by phone, e-mail or facebook.
